The Way We Talk EP - The Maine review

THE WAY WE TALK – EP
The Maine
Fearless Records

Updated: 03/01/08

Just about one year after their inception, The Maine find themselves signed to Fearless Records and have just released their first EP entitled The Way We Talk. Based out of the Phoenix, AZ music scene, The Maine deliver user-friendly indie rock that will surely find a huge following well beyond their hometown. Amassing an impressive collection of friends on Myspace and a good deal of attention through their live performances, it was only a matter of time before The Maine hit the recording studio and then take their act and infectious tunes out on the road.

The Way We Talk consists of five strong cuts, with the clear standouts being If I Only Had A Heart, Give Me Anything, and the title track which has definite radio hit potential. If you buy a copy from I-tunes, an inspired cover of the hip-hop song I Wanna Love You by Akon is thrown into the mix. From the record label that launched The Plain White T’s and Rock Kills Kids into the stratosphere, expect the same immense results with The Maine. A promising debut from a band we’ll be hearing a lot more from in the future. (Kenneth Morton)
